Abstract： [Purpose/significance] This paper introduces the basic information of IFLA Knowledge Management Section and its works in recent years, and looks forward to the application prospect and future development of knowledge management from the industry perspective. [Method/process] Through the review of 2017-2019 IFLA Knowledge Management Section’s meetings and case analysis, this paper introduced the specific works of Knowledge Management Section and the future development prospects of knowledge management. [Result/conclusion] The IFLA Knowledge Management Section has made great contributions to increasing the impact of knowledge management, and in the future we should boldly introduce knowledge management into libraries, and make it an active theory, then continue to grow the theory of knowledge management through more discipline crossover and collaboration.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] Based on comprehensive investigation and study worldly, this article provides the research and framework construction of a new scholarly communication ecosystem. The paper provides research and experience of building scholarly communication ecosystem.[Method/process] It generalizes the concept, model, function and development of scholarly communication. Through the analysis of the changes in the scholarly communication environment, the paper points out that the open access, data-driven research paradigm, software tool development, social media, and new changes in education and teaching have driven scholarly communication ecosystem reconstruction. The paper also introduces the research achievements, architecture design, construction experience and service effect of the next generation of scholarly communication ecosystem of Peking University, and sums up the construction experience and effect of institutional repository, research data management, open publishing, scholarly website and research support services.[Result/conclusion] Aiming at openly scholarly communication, the paper proposes a new generation of scholarly communication ecosystem, which provide wholly academic resources and services, covers the entire scholarly life cycle, such as preparation, discovery, analysis, writing, publishing, outreach and assessment. Based on the use of new technologies such as Bibliometrics, deep mining, and so on, the Ecosystem could support for teaching, research, research management and academic assessment. The research helps academic libraries to promote the development of scholarly communication ecosystem and benefits for the improvement of scholarly communication and research innovation.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] Traditional integrated library systems(ILS)are being swiftly replaced by library services platforms (LSP). Many academic libraries across the country are in the midst of assessing their ILSs and looking critically at these LSP. However, the marketplace for LSPs is rapidly changing and it is hard for libraries to decide which LSP is the best fit for their institutions. The paper assesses the market and main functions of LSP products to date, and it is hoped that the study will be of use to academic libraries considering an ILS migration to an LSP.[Method/process] LSP is evaluated based on the survey data about the experience and perception of academic librarians overseas. [Result/conclusion] The number of LSP vendors are shrinking due to consolidation in the ILS/LSP market, and only Alma, Sierra and WMS are fully implemented. Moreover, Open source project FOLIO was announced to bring libraries another way. LSP, as a single, monolithic system, is not the answer. It is a loosely coupled platform-based library ecosystem model that will be the real "next generation" in library automation.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] User friendly interface has a direct impact on website usability. It's important to study how user think when interacting with a website page.[Method/process] This paper conducted a peer study in 2016 about university library website layout design both at home and abroad, implementing cognitive psychology theories. And the paper takes Peking University Library English Website as an example to introduce how to implement related cognitive psychology theories in actual situations.[Result/conclusion] To sum up, the paper gives three suggestions in layout design:design for the fold; design for scrolling; design for grouping;design for users.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] The purpose of studying Knowledge Bases and Related Tools (KBART) Recommended Practice is to promote the in-depth understanding and extensive implementation of KBART standard in libraries in China, to assist content providers in enhancing the quality of their products by complying with and certified by standards, and to ultimately improve the digital resource environment for end users.[Method/process] This paper mainly introduces the initiation, development, key content and characteristics of KBART; highlights the best practice of KBART, the related educational materials, the activities and the information network hub of knowledge bases. Further, this paper discusses the current implementation status and the future development of KBART.[Result/conclusion] More and more content providers have gradually accepted and complied with KBART, which has promoted standardized digital resource production and management.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] This paper discusses standards development for library demand driven acquisitions and introduces the Demand Driven Acquisition of Monographs (NISO DDA), a recommended practice published by the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) in United States.Libraries in China may draw on U.S. experience during their own DDA application and standards development.[Method/process] Through a literature review, this paper discusses the NISO DDA development background, process, key aspects, impact, and the challenges.[Result/conclusion]NISO DDA laid the foundation for the standardization and sustainable development of DDA. It provides guidelines for the standardized adoption and promotion of DDA on the basis of win-win cooperation by various stakeholders such as libraries, publishers, vendors, and aggregators. It has a positive impact on protecting the interests of all stakeholders in the book supply chain. The sustainable development of DDA continues to face challenges; various stakeholders are still actively exploring the ways in which DDA can be further developed.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] This paper aims at conducting a comparative study of national standards of electronic resources in China and the United States, analyzing the strengths and drawbacks in developing national standards in China, studying the mechanism and operational process for developing well-accepted and implemental standards in the United States, and further discussing what experiences China can draw from good practices in the United States to advance the standardization of electronic resources industry.[Method/process] Through the discussion of the methodology of a joint project of academic libraries in China and the United States:China-U.S. Comparison Study on national Electronic Resource Standards and Recommended Practices, and an environmental scan of current national standards of electronic resources in the two countries, this paper discusses standards' governing institutions, organizational structure, principle, contents, review/updating, maintenance, and internationalization, and provides preliminary analysis.[Result/conclusion] In light of the experience and characteristics in the development of national standards of electronic resources in China and the United States, this paper concludes that to ensure a healthy and steady development of the electronic resources industry, China needs to introduce the concept of parallel-development of industry standardization and industry further advancement, and change the practice of "the development of standards lags behind of the development of industry". The industry needs to make standards and best practices the real fundamental basis, to lead to a more healthy development and more effective production.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] The paper outlined the system of learning support services of academic libraries and built a model accordingly, as an effort to better understand the overall structure and the operation mechanism of learning support services provided by academic libraries.[Method/process] It summarized the basic forms and the supporting elements of learning support services of academic libraries based on research and main functions. Meanwhile, it tried to build a model for learning support services of academic libraries by analyzing the operation mechanism of learning support services with activity as the basic unit.[Result/conclusion] Space, technology and personnel are the 3 supporting elements of learning support services, which should be aligned with the basic forms of learning support services offered by academic libraries-resource service and quality development. The various combinations of the 2 basic forms and the three supporting elements constitute the system of learning support services of academic libraries, and full integration is deemed necessary according to activity organization. Thus, the paper managed to build a double-helical model for learning support services of academic libraries, which displayed activity-driven subjectivity, nonlinear logical progression, synergistic support services, symbiotic and integrated development and other characteristics in its mechanism.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] The Belt and Road Initiative has attracted widespread attention around the world, and users in many countries have expressed their opinions, comments and discussed with each other on twitter, the most representative social media. The discussion topic and emotional tendency of "the Belt And Road" in the world extracted from the tweets will be helpful for the government to optimize their propaganda strategies and increase the exposure and attention of the Belt and Road Initiative.[Method/process] This paper collected more than 60 000 tweets related to the Belt and Road Initiative in 2017, and respectively carried out data preprocessing, data description, topic mining, and sentiment analysis in Chinese and English, and realized cross-analysis of topics and emotions to draw conclusions.[Result/conclusion] The tweet theme in 2017 is mainly around the "Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation". Chinese tweets pay more attention to the planning and implementation of the forum, as well as security issues, visits by the leadership, etc. The emotional value fluctuates greatly, especially the negative emotions on security issues. English tweets are more concerned with the facts of holding the summit forum and the economic effects brought by the forum. The emotional fluctuations are small, and the emotional value of the economic aspect is that the positive proportion is significantly higher than the negative and neutral emotional values.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] By investigating the research status and service demand of the new generation knowledge at home and abroad, this paper analyzes the key technologies and functional characteristics of the next generation repositories. It puts forward the key trends of institutional repositories, and provides some suggestions for the development of next generation repositories.[Method/process] Through literature research, this paper summarized the development trend of institutional repository technology and function. Then, it introduced 11 key technologies, standards and protocols of the new generation repositories. By researching and designing the functions, it analyzed the development of next generation repositories in many aspects such as framework, functions and service target.[Result/conclusion] The paper generalizes the development trends of next generation repositories as followings:①from institutional repository to institutional information infrastructure.②from self-archiving to automated submission or ingestion.③ from independent platforms to current research information system(CRIS).④ from scholarly outputs management platform to academic resources service center. ⑤from information retrieval to supporting big data and semantic retrieval. ⑥from academic archives to academic scholarly communities. ⑦from providing metrics and altmetrics services to creating a new system of academic evaluation.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] The paper put forward the reader data utilization framework to guide the library to systematically collect, organize, save and mine reader data more systematically and realize its value-added utilization.[Method/process] The paper introduced data curation and data lifecycle-based data service development concepts, and built a lifecycle-based reader data curation framework. Based on this framework, the paper took the practice of the 2017 Peking University Reading Report as an example, curating for libraries and readers.[Result/conclusion] Through the curation of reader data, on the one hand, it helps the library to clarify the readers' access and borrowing rules, core reader groups, resource utilization, and rationally optimize various resources and services. On the other hand, by recommending reading resources and services to readers, readers can improve their reading quality and make full use of libraries. It provides a useful reference for the standardized and in-depth development of reader data curation and value-added utilization.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] This paper conducted a LDA topic analysis on "the Belt and Road" related news content in official medias and built a basic framework of news topic analysis using LDA model to help the public understand the dynamics and progress of the initiative and its focus in different periods.[Method/process] This paper selected "the Belt and Road" related news on the Chinese government Website during 2015 to 2017, and conducted the topic extraction and heat evolution analysis using LDA model.[Result/conclusion] A total of 30 topics were extracted and summarized as seven categories called policy coordination, facilities connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration, people-to-people bond, economic impact and government work. Among them, the policy coordination category has the highest heat during whole time period. Unimpeded trade category and economic impact category are the second and third highest. The heat of some topics, such as "reform and transformation", decline over time, while others like "import and export" increase. These results reflect the changes in the attention of the official media to different news topics related with "the Belt and Road".

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] A book review on Empirical Study on the Construction and Development of Cross-System Regional Library Consortia in China was conducted, aiming at understanding the current situation of cross-system regional library consortia in China and how to promote its development.[Method/process] From research topics, research contents, research methods, etc., this paper used content analysis, inductive and deductive methods to evaluate several distinctive features of this book.[Result/conclusion] The monograph is a representative book for mastering the development of cross-system regional library consortia in China, using solid empirical research to obtain detailed information, and putting forward a scientific and reasonable development strategy for the sustainable development of library consortia in China with a wide range of social and practical significance.

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] Since 2002, universities have been carrying out international evaluation of disciplines aiming to comprehensively evaluate the development situation and improve the international competitiveness of specific discipline. As an important information service department, the university library plays an active role in the process of international evaluation.[Method/process] Based on a thorough understanding of the characters of the international evaluation, the third party evaluation report was structured by bibliometric method and oriented by user demand. This paper introduced in detail the benchmarking institution choose, basic data acquisition and evaluation index layout,providing an accurate reference for the evaluation. By taking the Peking University Library's report of the international evaluation (pharmaceutical science) as an example, this paper introduced the writing process.[Result/conclusion] The third party evaluation report for international evaluation generated by Peking University library, objectively analyzes the scientific research layout, development trend and influence of the evaluated institutions/disciplines, and offers detailed comparison with the corresponding international benchmarking institutions to illustrate the competitiveness of the evaluated universities among the international peers. In the future, libraries should take full use of their advantages in information services, expand objects of their service, and provide objective, reasonable and scientific analysis reports with a third-party perspective to assist various evaluations.
