The Measurement Method of Coauthor Contribution Rate Based on the Author's Contribution Statement

Abstract： [Purpose/significance] With the quickly development of science and technology and the coming of the era of big science, there are more and more scientific research cooperation and co-authored research papers, which is urgent to evaluate and distribute the contribution of coauthor in order to reduce the friction between researchers and promote scientific research.[Method/process] By systematically reviewing the relevant research literatures and surveying the practice of the famous academic journals, this article illustrated the development process of the author's contribution statement and analyzes the relationship between key elements of author's contribution and the order of authorship as well as the function and shortcoming of author contribution computation solutions existed. Based on the author's contribution statement and the degree of author's participation in each contributing element, this paper constructed the new measurement method of coauthor contribution rate.[Result/conclusion] The new method can improve the traditional measurement method of coauthor contribution rate and promote the academic influence evaluation from the unit of a fully paper to the contribution element of each author in a co-authored research paper.
