Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The social capital of users in social question and answer (SQA) is influenced by many factors. This paper aims to explore the differences in the impact of different health information behaviors of SQA users with their social capital.[Method/process] Taking 1 650 users as the research objects, who were selected from 2 537 problems and 3 567 answers of diabetes topic in Zhihu. This study applied L. Nan's social capital theory framework and N. Uphoff's classification of social capital, divided the user's social capital on SQA into cognitive social capital and structural social capital. And then, we analyzed the relationship between user's health information behavior on SQA and social capital by the method of multiple linear regression.[Result/conclusion] The results show that user's information contribution behavior and information disclosure behavior positively promote the accumulation of social capital in varying degrees, while different information acquisition behaviors have different effects on cognitive social capital and structural social capital. These results help SQA users improve social capital, as well as the platform can improve user service and incentives.

  • The Prediction Research of Response Rate in Social Q&A Communities: A Case Study of Baidu Knows

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-07-26 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Based on the current situation of low response rate of social Q&A communities, the research can provide references for social Q&A communities to improve user activation, retention rate and user experience by predicting the response rate of questions.[Method/process] The paper took "Baidu Know" as the research platform, and grabbed 10 640 question records under 14 topics set by the platform. From the perspective of question and questioner characteristics, the paper constructed the research framework of the factors affecting the question response rate. The binary logistic regression was used to verify the influencing factors, and then the prediction model of the question response rate was constructed.[Result/conclusion] The prediction research of response rate in social Q&A communities can improve the quality of platform information services and promote user knowledge contribution behavior. The experimental results have verified the validity of the model in the prediction of question response rate of the social Q&A communities.

  • Research on the Influencing Mechanism of Users' Recognition of Answers in E-learning Community

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-07-26 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Study of the influencing mechanism of users' recognition of answers is helpful to identify central path and edge path, to retain users with high influence power, to guarantee high quality questions and answers, then to increase community activity.[Method/process] After building a theoretical model about answer recognition, collecting data from 1964 posts on the NPC Economic Forum, Smartpls software is used to analyze the data.[Result/conclusion] User activity can affect user influence and answer quality separately, thus affecting the degree of answer recognition in E-learning communities. Answer quality affects user influence as well. The impact of user influence power on answer recognition is far more than that of answer quality, that is, the edge path has a greater impact than the central path.

  • The Effect of Social Interaction on Users' Intention of Knowledge Payment

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-07-26 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Knowledge payment products have many types and inconsistent quality, which may undermine users' payment intention. This may lead to the failure of knowledge payment models. This research examined the effect of social interaction on knowledge payment user intention, and identified the effect of trust and identification on users' payment intention. [Method/process] A total of 377 valid questionnaires were obtained and data analysis was conducted using SPSS and LISREL. [Result/conclusion] The results show that informational interaction and emotional interaction significantly affect trust. Informational interaction and trust have significant impacts on identification. Trust and identification determine payment intention. Thus, the platforms should attach importance to social interaction between users, and foster users' trust and identification in order to motivate their payment intention.

  • Research on the Dynamic Evolution Mechanism of User Experience on a Social Q&A Platform

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Science submitted time 2023-04-01 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper explored the dynamic evolution of user experience on social Q&A platform, identified the main elements and trends of user experience in different stages, and provided suggestions for platform construction and service optimization.[Method/process] Based on the Grounded Theory, the key words of Zhihu user experience were extracted to construct the evaluation system of Zhihu user experience. Experimental method had been used to obtain time series data to analyze the main factors affecting user experience in different stages. ARIMA model was used as well to predict the trend of three dimensions of user experience.[Result/conclusion] In the short term, in the first stage, usability had the greatest impact on user experience; in the middle two stages, affect had the greatest impact, followed by usability; in the fourth stage, user value had the greatest impact, and usability had the smallest impact. The prediction results showed that, with time passing by, except for the fluctuation of affect in the composition of user experience, usability and user value were declining. In the long run, improving the experience of users' affect couldn't be ignored to improve the overall user experience.

  • Research on the Contribution of User Interaction Characteristics to the Prediction of Knowledge Payment Behavior

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Science submitted time 2023-04-01 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] In order to enrich the theoretical study between social interaction behavior and knowledge payment behavior, identify potential paying customers effectively so as to improve the marketability of online knowledge community, this paper studies the contribution degree of different types and degrees of interactive behaviors to the prediction of knowledge paying users and their changing trends on the basis of summarizing the predecessors’ research conclusion. [Method/process] Based on the social interaction behavior data of 4 million users crawled from the Zhihu community (www.zhihu.com), this paper classified the social interaction behavior of users in the community according to the different interaction subjects and interaction directions, and then used random forest algorithm studied the contribution of different types and degrees of interaction behavior to the prediction of knowledge paying users. [Result/conclusion] The results show that the impact of the interaction between users and other users is greater than that of the interaction between users and the platform. In particular, the impact of active interactions sent to other users is greater than the impact of passive interactions from other users. In addition, within a certain threshold, the greater the degree of social interaction, the greater its contribution to the prediction of knowledge payment behavior. Different interaction types have different thresholds, but beyond this threshold, the relationship is no longer a simple monotonic increase and may tend to be flat or even significantly lower.
