Strengthening Archival Secondary Vocational Education: A Multidimensional Review and Development Approach

Abstract: Archival secondary vocational education is the incubator of multi-level talent training for archival career. Strengthening the development of archival secondary vocational education is necessary to meet the needs of social archival talents, build up the traditional archival culture, and create local and regional characteristics for development. From the policy leadership, the development direction is clear; optimisation of resources, the education foundation is solid; school-enterprise linkage, the deepening of the integration of the industry, to illustrate the feasibility of strengthening the development of secondary vocational education for archives. At this stage, the development of archival secondary vocational education in China faces the dilemmas of low recognition of archival secondary vocational education, operational obstacles in the construction of dual-teacher teachers, the mechanism of industry-teaching fusion is not yet sound, and the system of archival vocational education has not been completely opened up. Based on this, the study proposes to strengthen the development of archival secondary vocational education: reversing the bias of archival vocational education, improving the archival dual-teacher structure of the teaching staff, creating a multi-dimensional collaborative education community, and broadening the pathway of success through vocational and popularisation integration.
