  • Research on Dynamic Topic Recognition Based on the Change of Word CoOccurrence Frequency

    Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] The research on topic recognition is very important to clarify the knowledge structure and research hotspots in the field. Dynamic identification of domain topics can help researchers understand and master the development trend and future trend of the field. [Method/Process] Using the data structure form of tensor, this paper integrated the time dimension into the word co-occurrence matrix, and only needed one clustering to identify the dynamic topic. [Result/Conclusion] Tensor structure and non-negative tensor decomposition algorithm provide a new method for dynamic topic recognition from the perspective of word co-occurrence frequency change. Compared with traditional methods, this method is simpler and faster, and effectively avoids the loss of information.

  • Research on the World-class Discipline Quality Evaluation Method Based on ESI

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] “Double first-class” university construction focuses on disciplines. Exploring the first-class subject quality evaluation method is an important content of perfecting the firstclass discipline evaluation system. [Method/process] This paper analyzed the key features of the sample group’s subject measurement by analyzing the ESI data of the world’s top 50 universities in the world, including the relationship between the numbers of papers and the growth, the relative ranking of disciplines, and the citation influence. This paper put forward the discipline “quartet method” from two dimensions: the contribution and the influence, with good discrete effects and reliability. [Result/conclusion] The discipline “quartet method” solves the problems of result homogenization in the world first-class discipline evaluation. It is shown that there are numerous super disciplines, whose amount is much larger that those of other countries, such as Germany, Japan, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, China, Singapore.

  • A Review of the Main Recognition Methods of Frontier Research

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper summarized the advantages and disadvantages of various recognition methods of frontier researches by comparing and analyzing these methods, and suggested improvements for future researches.[Method/process] Firstly, it reviewed the literatures related to research frontiers at home and abroad, and identified relevant concepts of the research frontier. Then, the paper analyzed the main exsited research methods for the identification of research frontiers. Comparing with the traditional identification methods, this paper emphasized the summary of recognition methods of transformative research frontiers. Finally, this study summarized the main problems existed in the frontier identification methods, and put forward suggestions for improving the research frontier identification methods.[Result/conclusion] In terms of conceptual meanings, this paper distinguished research hotspots, emerging researches and research frontiers in the dimensions of time and innovation. According to the different levels of innovation, research frontiers can be divided into conventional research frontiers and transformative research frontiers. In terms of identification methods, different methods have their own applicable scenes. In the future, it is necessary to further dig out the measurement features of the "research frontier", especially the semantic associations among topics and the fusion of multiple relations should be focused on, as well as the feature mining of the early signs of "transformation research frontier", and then constructing corresponding recognition and prediction methods.

  • Research on the Influencing Factors of Listed Companies' Competitiveness Based on Grounded Theory

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] As the key intelligence topic in the research of competitive intelligence, "influencing factors of competitiveness" becomes the focus of many scholars. In the study of the listed companies' competitiveness, most of the researches focuse on financial information in the annual report, ignoring non-financial information. To cure the above phenomenon,this paper tries to analyze the entire disclosed content in the annual report, and provide theoretical guidance for the research and practice of competitive intelligence.[Method/process] Taking the listed companies as examples, the annual reports of 36 listed companies are deeply analyzed by grounded theory in this paper. Then, through the process of open coding, axial coding and selective coding, this paper refined the concepts and categories which related to competitiveness.[Result/conclusion] The PETEGP model of the influencing factors of listed companies' competitiveness is established in this paper, including production activities, external environment, technological innovation, element management, corporate governance and core competitiveness perceiving. The results indicate that typical time effect exists in this PETEGP model, external environment, technological innovation, element management, corporate governance and core competitiveness perceiving push competitiveness through the interaction with production activities.

  • Research on Evaluation Methods of Academic Journals Impact

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance]Periodicals' influence evaluation is an important part and application field of scientific metrology research, which is of great significance for optimizing journal quality and promoting scientific exchange.[Method/process]This review summarizes the research progress of influencing evaluation methods of journals at home and abroad. In terms of traditional indicators, the series of influencing factors, index H and derivative indices, PageRank and its derivative indicators, the method of comprehensive evaluation based on multiple factors and the impact of periodicals based on social media, interdisciplinary journal evaluation methods, the characteristics and deficiencies of current evaluation methods are pointed out.[Result/conclusion]The paper finds that the existing evaluation indexes are poorly integrated. The citation skewness and self-citation problems are less considered, and the feasibility of emerging social media-based evaluation methods needs to be discussed. In the future we should pay attention to the in-depth integration of evaluation indicators, the diversification of citations for biased improvement methods, the standardization of evaluation methods for social media journals, and the systematization of cross-disciplinary journal evaluation methods.

  • A Study on Classification of Thesauri Associative Relationships Based on the Interspecies Relationships in Ecology

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Thesauri associative relationships play an important role in indexing and information retrieval, classification and property definition of associative relationships have important significances in information organization.[Method/process] This paper analyzed the characteristics of interspecies relationships in ecology and thesauri associative relationships, and established the link between them. Then, through the combination of different characteristics, it classified the associative relationships by interspecies relationships. Finally, it discussed the construction of associative relationship from the perspective of interspecies relationship.[Result/conclusion] The associative relationships can be classified into four kinds of interspecies relationships, including predation, symbiosis, competition, parasitism. Different associative relationships have different properties, and the classification of associative relationships can provide a new way for the construction of associative relationship.

  • Research on the Text Clustering Method of Science and Technology Reports Based on the Topic Model

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper explores the method of text clustering in the science and technology reports based on the topic model, develops new scientific literature technology monitoring areas, and puts forward a new semantic analysis method based on science and technology reports. [Method/process] Based on the national science and technology report service system, firstly, it conducted topic mining based on the LDA model after the text preprocessing; secondly, a clustering analysis based on the combination of K-means and Ward was carried out based on the text vector of the abstract containing theme distribution information. A proper text clustering method for the text mining suitable for the science and technical report was proposed. [Result/conclusion] The experimental results show that the LDA model can be effectively and accurately used in the topic mining of science and technology reports, and the clustering effect of the combination of Ward and K-means proposed in this paper is better than that of other traditional clustering algorithms in science and technology reports.

  • Study on Analysis Method of Technology Industrialization Potential Based on Multi-source Data——A Case Study of Engineering Vaccine Technology

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Accurate analysis of the industrialization potential of emerging technology is of great significance for investment decisions, patent layout, resource allocation and market development.[Method/process]This paper firstly summarizes the existing evaluation methods of industrialization potential systematically, and then builds a framework of industrialization potential analysis method based on multi-source data, which includes policy environment analysis, industrial technology analysis, market quotation analysis and the fusion interpretation of all. Next, the feasibility and validity of the method are verified by case analysis of the genetic engineering vaccine technology.[Result/conclusion]This method is based on the technical panorama and integrates a variety of data sources, which can make the local characteristics of technology industrialization integrate into the overall characteristics. The multi-dimensional analysis can be mutually confirmed and complement each other to obtain more valuable results of industrialization potential analysis.

  • Empirical Research on TF-IDF Assisted Indexing Algorithm Based on Users' Natural Annotation

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper studies the TF-IDF assisted indexing algorithm based on the user natural annotation from the users' point of view.[Method/process] First, the keywords and the classification number in Chinese core journals were taken as the data source. The user natural annotation vocabulary was constructed by computing the keywords frequency and using the TF-IDF algorithm. Second, the featured words were extracted from the scientific and technological project data by the IK Analyzer word segmentation software and the TF-IDF algorithm. Finally, the keywords and classification number of the scientific and technological project data were indexed synchronously.[Result/conclusion] The experiment indicates that the data of scientific and technical projects take up 68.1% in total. In these projects, the ratio similitude of the keywords of machine indexing and the keywords of human indexing is more than 60% in total. The ratio of the uniformity in the former three numbers of machine-indexed classification number and the human-indexed classification number is 83.9% in total. It is feasible to adopt the TF-IDF algorithm based on the users' natural annotation data.

  • Overview and Considerations on Disruptive Technology Identification Method

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The disruptive technology can change the traditional production mode and consumption structure, to make the industrial pattern change dramatically. Identifying potential disruptive technologies will help people to seize the commanding heights of science & technology and gain the first-mover advantage.[Method/process] Collecting literature through subject retrieval and citation tracing, the present stage of the main identification method of the disruptive technology is summarized.[Result/conclusion] The selection of methods is closely related to the academic backgroud of researchers. According to their main research fields, they are divided into four kinds of method:library and information, engineering management, economic research and Christansen School. And then, seven dimensions of recognition methonds are compared and three problems are poinrted out:over-reliance on expert evaluation, inadequate pertinence of indentification standards and inadequate effect of advance indentification. So, in future study, disruptive technology indentification should be explored in various perspectives.

  • Research on the Distribution Characteristics of New Terminology for the Update of the Thesaurus

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] In order to enhance the practicability of thesaurus, it is necessary to constantly update new terms in the field to thesaurus. In the process of updating and maintenance, we should explore the distribution characteristics of new terms from the perspective of time and frequency, which can provide reference for the method of discovering new terms.[Method/process] Based on the relevant characteristics of the new terminology, combined with the development distribution of the corresponding document frequency at time point and period, through the relevant statistical analysis, the distribution of terminologies in different development periods is studied, especially the characteristics of terminologies from the beginning to the maturity.[Result/conclusion] It is proved that the new terminology is generally in the growth stage of terminology. When the candidate new terminology keeps positive growth trend for more than a certain number of years, it is considered that the term has all novelty, time persistence and terminological features. Based on the distribution characteristics, the article selects a subject area to discover its new terminology. According to the judgment of the expert, the method has a high accuracy rate in the judgment of new term, and can effectively identify the low frequency words which are more occupied in practical applications.

  • Identifying Expertise Tags of Scholars by Multiple Features of Academic Publications

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Identifying expertise tags of scholars is the most critical task in scholar profiling. Expertise tags contribute to finding peer experts, clustering domain scholars and selecting reviewers.[Method/process] This study analyzed related factors on the scholar expertise in academic publications, then constructed a hierarchical analysis model on the weight allocation of the factors. The TextRank algorithm has been used to identify topical terms in Chinese corpus, and the conceptual linking technique in English corpus. The extracted terms, together with the previously analyzed factors have been combined to select the expertise tags of the scholars. In this study, a group of honored scholars of different domains have been selected. Their research expertise information from their resumes have been taken as evaluation benchmark. And the expertise tags extracted from their publications have been compared with the benchmark by human judgment and additional semantic similarity judgment.[Result/conclusion] The evaluation shows that the expertise tags of 71.9% scholars are acceptable for Chinese, and 77.2% for English. The experiment proves that the method proposed in this article is pragmatic and may lead to reasonable results. The chief innovation of this study lies in three aspects, Firstly, term extraction approaches that suit to different application conditions have been explored, such as the language of publication and the availability of domain knowledge base. Secondly, multiple features have been combined together to identify the expertise tags of scholars, including the content of publications, the substantial contribution to the publications of the scholars, and the influence to the domain of the publications. Thirdly, a reasonable experimental design and evaluation method is proposed, and the proposed approach has been verified by combining manual scoring and semantic calculation results.

  • Research on Core Technology Topic Identification Based on Chunk-LDAvis

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Core technology topic identification based on a large number of patent documents is helpful to detect key technologies in a technical field and to analyze the direction of the development of key technologies. It is the basic information work for technological innovation and has certain significance for researchers, enterprises and even the national level.[Method/process] This paper proposes a core technology topic identification method based on Chunk-LDAvis. Firstly, it is based on the classic LDA model to identify the topics. Then, the noun chunk is used to mark the results of the initial LDA topic identification, and the result of the Chunk-LDA topic recognition is constructed to improve its interpretability. Then based on the social network analysis method, the topic network is constructed to identify the core technical topics; based on the LDAvis toolkit, the interactive Chunk-LDAvis core technology topic association analysis map is plotted, and the hidden links of the core technical topics are found, and the core technology topic detection is assisted.[Result/conclusion] Through the empirical study on the field of nanoscale agriculture, the accuracy and feasibility of the proposed method are verified.

  • Formation and Research Progress of Knowledge Organization Ecosystem

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] By introducing the principles and methods of ecology into the study of knowledge organization system, the functions and actions of knowledge organization system can be brought into full play. [Method/process] Based on the research results of ecology, the principles and methods of ecology are introduced into the construction and application of the knowledge organization system. The biological individual corresponds to the concept individual, the species population and the concept correspond, the biological community and the vocabulary correspond, the biological environment corresponds to the literature environment and on the basis of the complete and consistent correspondence of the structure and function, the working principle and method of the knowledge organization system are studied. [Result/conclusion] The framework of the knowledge organization ecosystem is refined and perfected, and the main contents of each level are analyzed and summarized in the four aspects, including the concept instance, the concept population, the concept community (vocabulary) and the ecosystem.

  • Personalized Recommendation Based on User Decision-making Mechanism

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The purpose of this paper is to propose an optimization strategy of features choosing and weight computing for content-based personalized recommendation.[Method/process] This paper proposes a personalized recommendation model based on user's decision-making mechanism, which takes user decision mechanism as background knowledge in features selection, user interest profile construction and semantic representation, and user decision function construction. To test this model, this paper conducts an experiment taking 4 748 users as sample, vector space model as reference model, and P@N as evaluation index.[Result/conclusion] The results show that, in the cases of N equals 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, the personalized recommendation model based on user decision-making mechanism is significantly better than the vector space model, and the effectiveness of the model is verified.

  • Study on the Construction Method of Scholars Repository Based on Digital Library

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] From the perspective of the utilization and arrangement of digital library resources, this paper designs the construction mode of scholar data identification and scholar repository,which helps to improve the efficiency and characteristic service of digital library resources construction.[Method/process] This paper investigated the research and practice of scholar database at home and abroad from 4 aspects:the source of scholar selection and collection, the content and framework of scholar description, the construction and application of scholar repository. By analyzing the characteristics and attributes of scholars, studying the structured expression of scholars' data, this paper put forward the construction process and overall framework of scholar repository based on digital library.[Result/conclusion] This paper puts forward the promotion strategy of building and application of scholar repository, emphasizes that scholar repository should be integrated into the scientific research management process, mobilize scholars to participate in the construction, increase the effect of exhibition and publicity, combine with talent identification, serve the construction of team and thematic resources. It is also important to combine with knowledge management, take into account the functions of scholar archive and scholar portrait, and expand the precise service function.

  • Study on Radical Innovation Prediction to Emerging Technology Topics Based on Citation Curve Fitting——Taking the Field of Stem Cells as an Example

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Through the fitting analysis of the citation curves of emerging technology topics, this paper refined and summarized the main types and characteristics of the citation curves, in order to provide a useful reference for the study of prediction methods for radical innovation topics at the micro level.[Method/process] Firstly, the hypothesis of using citation curves to trace the emerging technology topics to produce radical innovation was proposed and the concept and measurement method of the transition index were proposed. The criteria of predicting radical innovation were summarized and the method model of radical innovation identification was constructed from the two dimensions of knowledge transition and continuous growth. Then used the time slices cited data of each emerging technology topic to construct the citation curves, classify and summarize the types and characteristics of citation curves of different emerging technology topics.[Result/conclusion] The citation curves of emerging technology topics includes four types:continuous growth in the near future; continuous decline in the near future; short life cycle; consistent trends in similar years. According to the identification criteria of radical innovation, the citation curves have the potential to become radical innovation if they have many transitions and a large transition range, and the highest citation peak occurs later, and maintains a high citation rate in the near future with a sustained stable or rapid growth. Combined with the assessment of the prediction results by domain experts and the research progress of different emerging technology topics, it is verified that the citation curve fitting analysis can effectively predict the breakthrough of emerging technology topics.

  • The Challenges and Countermeasures of Knowledge Organization in Big Data Service

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Big data services bring more challenges to knowledge organization. Through observing, understanding and analyzing these challenges, knowledge organization work stakeholders would grasp possible changes and provide countermeasures.[Method/process] Focusing on the construction and application of knowledge organization system, challenges of different aspects of knowledge organization were analyzed and countermeasures were proposed from related real case practice.[Result/conclusion] The challenges of knowledge organization in big data services can be divided into four aspects:data explosion, document assurance, integration and application. A series of knowledge organization frameworks for big data services including new knowledge structure, multi-source updating strategy and elastic application service model are proposed, which can better meet the above challenges.

  • Construction of Text Knowledge Network Integrating Discourse Structure

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Text vectorization is a necessary pre-processing process in the fields of text mining, information retrieval, sentiment analysis, etc. It is an urgent problem to make node vectors contain rich and effective semantic and structural information.[Method/process] At first, this paper analyzed the text characteristic of science and technology policy. According to the classification system of the concept and the relationship between the concepts, this paper used BiLSTM-CRF algorithm and SVM respectively to extract index the concepts and their relations automatically. Meanwhile, the model integrated basic characteristics and syntactic semantic features in feature engineering, leading to a boost in recognition accuracy and efficiency. This article also put forward the concept knowledge network combining reasoning knowledge and the knowledge network construction method of furtherly integrating discourse structure.[Result/conclusion] Based on this knowledge network model, this paper implements a network representation learning model that can integrate node semantics, topology structure and category label information. It can fully exploit and represent text semantic and structural information, and through the visualization and experiment to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
